More than 40 years of transactional and litigation experience, with a knack for problem solving. In particular, he has participated in a wide number of complex transactions involving real estate, corporate ownership and intense dispute resolution and negotiation.
Focuses on all aspects of business and corporate law, including labor, employment, intellectual property, and real estate. Seasoned in reorganizations, corporate law, corporate governance, shareholder disputes and contractual negotiation including trusts and financing.
Luis has been a lead counsel for countless cases before all manner of judicial and administrative courts of Costa Rica.
Luis has extensive experience representing a wide range of international and national clients on their intellectual property, real estate and commercial law issues. He provides succinct, clear and practical legal advice.
In particular, Luis has practiced in Beijing for one of China’s top law firms, for a wide range of private and government clients from all over the world in copyright, patent and trademark matters concerning drafting, prosecution, trademark oppositions, cancellation and other post-grant procedures, as well as general business transactions. In addition, he has extensive experience as lead counsel in inter partes procedures before the Costa Rican Patent and Trademark Office and its Appeal Board.
Luis is post-graduate civil law notary public. He counsels major corporations and individuals in matters including drafting and negotiating real estate, commercial and intellectual property agreements.
